Thai Boxing
Muay Thai or Thai Boxing is a martial art thousands of years old. Different from Western boxing it includes kicks and punches performed with elbows, knees and feet as well.
There are many different techniques used, some intended to hurt the opponent immediately, some only to keep him away or put him off balance before striking out with the next attack. Once a week, normally on Saturdays, there are competitions in the bigger towns along the Gulf of Siam Coast. These are real fights, sometimes with fighters coming from other provinces and they are a "must go" for the local male population. Fight Night starts normally at 21:00 and the entrance fee is 300 Baht.
